Compensation: CAD $100,000 to $125,000 base + 10% bonus
Travel: Moderate travel within Canada plus approximately 3 trade shows annually
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly respected international premium food company on the search for a Canada Sales Manager to support and grow its presence across the Canadian market.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organization with strong brand recognition, a collaborative leadership team, and a growing commercial function. The business is investing in a more proactive, relationship-driven go-to-market strategy in Canada and is looking for someone who can play a visible role in helping strengthen distributor partnerships, deepen retailer relationships, and support continued growth across key accounts.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the realities of selling premium fresh or refrigerated products into grocery and wants the opportunity to take on meaningful market ownership in a lean, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative environment.
Position Overview
The Canada Sales Manager will serve as the primary in-market commercial resource supporting the Canadian business outside of one major global account that remains under senior leadership. The role will be responsible for managing a key distributor relationship while also supporting major Canada-based retailers and helping elevate the company’s visibility, engagement, and effectiveness in market.
This position requires someone who can balance day-to-day account management with broader strategic support across the Canadian retail landscape. In addition to partnership management and commercial growth support, the role also includes administrative coordination such as import/export paperwork and related account support.
The right person will be relationship-driven, commercially minded, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a role that blends external-facing account work with executional follow-through.
What You’ll Be Doing
Distributor & Retail Partnership Management
- Serve as the primary Canada-based commercial partner supporting the business across key retail relationships
- Manage and strengthen the relationship with the company’s exclusive distributor partner
- Participate in retailer meetings alongside the distributor and help increase the company’s visibility and presence in market
- Build stronger, more consistent touchpoints with retail partners to support long-term relationship development
Commercial Growth Support
- Identify opportunities to expand product distribution and improve shelf presence across current retail accounts
- Support promotions, display opportunities, innovation launches, and broader joint business initiatives
- Contribute to pricing, assortment, and promotional conversations with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach
- Help bring forward ideas that strengthen account performance and partnership quality over time
Fresh / Refrigerated Category Support
- Apply working knowledge of fresh and refrigerated grocery dynamics, including shelf life, shrink, assortment, and movement
- Support conversations around in-store performance, product handling, promotional risk, and account execution
- Bring enough category understanding to engage credibly with both distributor and retailer partners
Administrative & Operational Coordination
- Support import/export paperwork and related administrative responsibilities tied to the Canadian business
- Assist with account support, reporting, and coordination needs
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment and follow-through
Market Presence
- Represent the company at trade shows and customer-facing events
- Support a more active, visible, and relationship-led commercial presence in Canada
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant sales, account management, or commercial experience
- Experience in the Canadian grocery market
- Background in fresh, refrigerated, deli, dairy, specialty cheese, protein, or other premium perishable food categories
- Experience working with distributor partners, retail accounts, or both
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and comfort managing both strategic and administrative responsibilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a lean, hands-on environment
- Commercially curious, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Comfortable engaging with customers and partners by phone, video, and in person
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting major grocery retailers in Canada
- Exposure to premium or higher-end food products
- Familiarity with shelf life, shrink, assortment, and movement challenges in fresh categories
- French language skills are a plus, especially for candidates based in or near Montreal
- Forecasting or broader commercial planning experience is helpful

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: CAD $100,000 to $125,000
- Bonus: 10% annual bonus
