Seeking a Compliance Analyst. This position is responsible for executing our BSA & Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) Manual, Transaction Monitoring Procedures, and KYC/CDD/EDD Procedures. The overall objective of this role is to ensure best-in-class compliance oversight for our high-risk transactional banking platform.
The Compliance Analyst is responsible for all day-to-day BSA and compliance activities, making sure our banking platform remains in compliance with our program. You will be reporting directly to our Chief Compliance Officer.
Perform work in AML investigations including, but not limited to, customer identification (“CIP”), customer due diligence (“CDD”), enhanced due diligence (“EDD”), watchlist and PEP management, Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) investigations, and other related regulatory matters.
Support the Chief Compliance Officer with maintaining the company’s enterprise-wide patron monitoring program which includes ongoing patron reviews and patron risk rating.
Work with internal stakeholders to assist in the development of ongoing monitoring criteria as it relates to the detection of unusual activity.
Oversee and implement our transaction monitoring procedures for transactions that have been brought forward for compliance review.
Use information gathered from various system sources and staff to detect patterns, trends and unusual activity to ensure that investigations are completed, to file Suspicious Activity Reports (“SARs”) and ensure our SAR filings are completed in accordance with regulation and our BSA Manual.
Assist the company’s AML reporting team with identifying cash transactions via Currency Transaction Reports that are reportable to FinCEN.
Dispositioning of alerts and flags raised by the system.
Provide guidance to internal and external partners regarding questions specific to compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and obligations.
Participate in internal and external AML certification and training programs to ensure subject area expertise.
Other duties as required and directed by our Chief Compliance Officer.
This individual will have 2-3 years of prior work experience in regulatory and transaction monitoring and investigating. The candidate should also be interested in not only the day-to-day monitoring, but also in building new reports and functionality to grow and enhance the system/program. This candidate will thrive in a new and emerging market with an entrepreneurial mind to hyperfocus and quickly pivot when needed. The candidate should also be willing to work on West Coast time (PST).
Experience with transaction and regulatory monitoring and requirements.
A post-secondary education degree, with some AML compliance experience preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel) a plus.
