DevOps Engineer IV – Hybrid (1 Day Per Week in Houston Required)
Position Overview
We are seeking an DevOps Engineer IV to provide thought leadership, strategy development, and architectural guidance across multiple subject areas within an enterprise IT environment. This role will be responsible for facilitating architecture patterns, standards, and enterprise-wide technology solutions to align with business goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise architecture, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration within complex IT landscapes. Expertise in Harness, AWS, and GitHub Actions is required, along with a strong understanding of IT systems, business strategy alignment, and enterprise-level technology solutions.
This position is hybrid, requiring candidates to be based in Houston, with one day per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide industry-leading thought leadership and facilitate the development of enterprise architecture strategies across multiple domains.
- Define and develop architecture patterns, standards, and best practices to guide IT initiatives.
- Consult on the design and implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain and optimize enterprise architecture models and repositories to support strategic planning.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to evaluate business goals, identify challenges, and propose solutions.
- Develop and maintain a centralized enterprise architecture repository and artifacts to support IT strategy and execution.
- Support the design of business, information, and technology architectures, balancing cost, functionality, and scalability.
- Research and recommend industry-standard processes and emerging technologies to enhance enterprise capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership to teams across multiple projects and initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong background in business, information, or technology architecture.
- Expertise in Harness, AWS, and GitHub Actions.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate work across multiple technology domains.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to assess the business landscape, industry trends, and IT opportunities.
- Ability to innovate, develop original ideas, and drive change across an organization.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging stakeholders across multiple levels.
- Ability to recognize patterns, predict outcomes, and proactively align work efforts toward strategic goals.
- Skilled in vendor management, contract negotiations, and ensuring high performance from third-party providers.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Expertise in design and implementation of complex IT solutions.
- Awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends in enterprise architecture.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes and drive collective agreements.
- Experience managing and overseeing external vendor relationships.
Work Schedule & Location
- Work Model: Hybrid – one day per week onsite in Houston.
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
Contract Details
- Employment Type: Contract.
- Rate Range: $80+
