IT Infrastructure Project Manager – Hybrid (Chicago & Mt. Prospect)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to support enterprise-level real estate and airport operations initiatives. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end infrastructure deployments—including hardware, cabling, networking (LAN/WAN), and related financial oversight—with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate brings strong technical awareness, financial acumen, and organizational excellence, and has a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple IT infrastructure and airport operations projects from initiation to close.
Plan, execute, and finalize projects while adhering to timelines, budgets, and scope.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful delivery.
Manage project schedules, resources, dependencies, and milestones using established methodologies.
Oversee project budgets, including OPEX and CAPEX tracking, and financial forecasting.
Coordinate technology procurement activities and vendor engagement to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
Identify and mitigate project risks; ensure adherence to change management protocols.
Communicate project updates, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders.
Ensure consistent application of project management best practices across initiatives.
Participate in project planning for new IT infrastructure initiatives, including airport site openings and hardware rollouts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects, preferably in airport or large enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of cabling, networking, LAN/WAN environments, and hardware deployment (software expertise not required).
Experience managing end-to-end infrastructure deployments, including coordination of equipment procurement and installation.
Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and PPM systems.
Proven success managing financial aspects of projects (labor tracking, forecasting, and vendor invoicing).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
No gaps in work history preferred; hiring manager values tenure and consistency.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Experience managing infrastructure for new site openings or airport IT deployments.
Previous experience with change management and enterprise project reporting.
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Work Schedule & Location
Training: First 2 weeks fully onsite (Chicago & Mt. Prospect)
After training: Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

Employment Type: Contract
Rate Range: $45+
