Middleware Programmer V – Hybrid (Houston, TX)
Position Overview
We are seeking an App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Developer to support integration initiatives within a Houston-based IT environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM ACE/IIB development, along with experience in web services (SOAP/REST), message-oriented middleware (MQ), and data transformation techniques. This role will require a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a structured, fast-paced setting.
This is a hybrid position based in Houston, with in-office presence required every Wednesday and Tuesday through Thursday during the third week of each month. The current schedule may transition to full-time onsite work in the future, depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IBM ACE/IIB integrations using ESQL, Java, and integration patterns.
- Develop, test, and implement web services (SOAP/REST), XML, JSON, and related technologies.
- Work with message-oriented middleware (MQ) to ensure reliable data exchange between systems.
- Transform and process various data formats while optimizing integration workflows.
- Debug and resolve performance issues, optimizing middleware and integration solutions.
- Document technical specifications, design patterns, and implementation processes.
- Collaborate with architects, senior developers, and business stakeholders to align integration solutions with project goals.
- Ensure compliance with best practices, security standards, and enterprise integration guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience in IBM ACE/IIB development.
- Strong expertise in ESQL, Java, and integration design patterns.
- Experience with web services (SOAP/REST), XML, JSON, and data transformation.
- Understanding of message-oriented middleware (MQ) and related technologies.
- Ability to analyze, debug, and optimize complex integration workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Experience with Operational Decision Manager (ODM).
- Familiarity with TeamCity, Harness, and AWS cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for integration development.
Work Schedule & Location
- Work Model: Hybrid – based in Houston, TX.
- Onsite Requirement: Every Wednesday; Tuesday–Thursday during the third week of each month (subject to future changes).
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
- Employment Type: Contract.
- Rate Range: $55+
