Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Administrator to support the Digital Enablement Operations team. This is a backfill role focused on maintaining platform stability, performing configuration and administrative tasks, and assisting with troubleshooting across ServiceNow modules.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of ServiceNow fundamentals, including administration, debugging, and workflow configuration. While this is not a development-heavy role, a foundational understanding of JavaScript, XML, and JSON will be helpful for debugging and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and customize core ServiceNow modules including ITSM, CMDB, Change, Problem, and Incident Management.
Perform platform administration, including user roles, ACLs, business rules, script includes, and notifications.
Troubleshoot issues using out-of-box debugging tools to identify root causes and ensure timely resolutions.
Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into ServiceNow solutions.
Support and maintain integrations with external systems via REST or SOAP APIs.
Participate in platform upgrades and ensure compatibility of customizations with new releases.
Maintain clear and organized technical documentation for all configurations and processes.
Monitor platform performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend best practices.
Assist with user support, issue triage, and ServiceNow ticket management.
Support initiatives to enhance automation, improve data quality, and streamline business processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of experience in IT, including 1+ year working with ServiceNow.
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow administration — managing roles, ACLs, CMDB, and workflows.
Ability to debug ServiceNow environments using built-in platform tools.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, XML, and JSON for scripting and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
Experience with REST API integrations and debugging.
Familiarity with Performance Analytics, Discovery, or MID Servers.
Knowledge of Xanadu or newer ServiceNow releases.
Understanding of ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
Work Schedule & Details
Location: Remote (preference for Chicago-based candidates).
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
Travel: None required.
