Project Overview
We are seeking a Senior UX/Interaction Designer IV to join the Core UX team responsible for shaping digital experiences across the customer journey. This designer will integrate human-centered design practices to define and deliver innovative, intuitive, and accessible digital solutions for web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate is an empathic and forward-thinking problem solver with a passion for high-quality design, micro-interactions, and continuous innovation in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan & Concept
Visualize and communicate ideas using design tools, sketching, and rapid ideation techniques.
Identify user needs and business requirements through research and analysis.
Contribute ideas for innovation and improvement based on user insights and competitive reviews.
Substantiate design approaches with data and projections for measurable impact.
Design & Refine
Develop consistent and engaging experiences across .com and app ecosystems.
Create intuitive interfaces, navigation schemes, and interactive patterns that align with brand and UX standards.
Build low- and high-fidelity prototypes using an iterative, collaborative process.
Partner with usability researchers to design test plans, gather insights, and refine solutions.
Define & Communicate
Deliver detailed design specifications, wireframes, user flows, storyboards, and red-lines.
Present design concepts to UX, product, and executive teams, integrating feedback effectively.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and project managers during implementation.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to advancing design standards and accessibility best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of professional UX design experience (8+ years preferred).
Proven experience designing for .com and mobile applications with strong visual and interaction design skills.
Demonstrated expertise in micro-interactions and motion-based user feedback.
Advanced understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Solid grasp of web and mobile design principles with familiarity in front-end technologies.
Skilled in creating detailed UX documentation (IA, workflows, wireframes, specifications).
Self-starter with the ability to define scope and structure work with minimal guidance.
Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Master’s in UX Design or Human-Computer Interaction.
Experience applying WCAG accessibility standards.
Familiarity with Agile design processes and collaborative tools (Figma, Jira, Confluence).
Work Schedule & Details
Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid (1–2 days onsite per week)
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Travel: 10–20% (with reimbursement)
