Overview
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager I to support the day-to-day operations, compliance, governance, and financial administration of a mission-driven organization.
This is a hands-on, independent role for a detail-oriented professional who can manage regulatory filings, board support, vendor coordination, and financial processes while helping ensure the organization remains in strong legal, regulatory, and financial standing.
Workload may vary throughout the year based on filing deadlines, board meetings, audits, and fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage nonprofit compliance requirements, registrations, annual filings, and governance documentation
- Coordinate preparation and submission of Form 990 and related compliance materials
- Maintain compliance calendars, corporate records, policies, and board documentation
- Support audits and coordinate with outside legal, accounting, and audit partners
- Oversee bookkeeping, financial records, payments, and reporting using tools such as QuickBooks
- Prepare financial summaries and support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
- Coordinate Board and committee meetings, including agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up items
- Manage third-party vendor relationships and monitor performance and contract compliance
- Support fundraising operations and event coordination, including related financial tracking and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit operations, compliance, governance, or administration
- Knowledge of nonprofit filings, charitable registrations, and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting audits and annual compliance processes
- Proficiency with bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping; QuickBooks experience preferred
- Experience supporting Board meetings and maintaining governance records
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Travel Requirements
- Up to 10–20% travel as needed for board meetings, planning sessions, and organizational events
