Project Overview
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager (IT Project Manager IV) to lead a large-scale enterprise migration from TIBCO to Solace messaging platforms. This role demands exceptional leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage complex technical programs that span multiple teams and functions. The ideal candidate has deep experience in Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering, and DevOps, and excels at delivering large-scale technology transformations within fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Manage end-to-end delivery of the enterprise platform migration initiative, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with application teams to facilitate migration activities, providing leadership, structure, and support to meet program milestones.
Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor program status, maintain progress dashboards, and communicate updates using tools like PowerBI, Jira, and Clarity.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary liaison with executive leadership, technical teams, and external partners, ensuring transparent and proactive communication.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency across technical and functional teams.
Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential challenges through detailed planning and contingency strategies.
Documentation & Governance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of activities, deliverables, and milestones to ensure transparency and accountability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (PMP or PgMP certification preferred).
8+ years of progressive experience managing enterprise technology programs or platform migrations.
Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering, and DevOps practices.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, particularly when interfacing with executive leadership.
Proficient in Agile and SAFe Agile methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, influence outcomes, and drive results independently.
Strong proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Clarity, and PowerBI.
Highly self-driven, resourceful, and adept at identifying solutions and driving progress across multiple teams.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Proven success leading large-scale technology migrations or modernization initiatives.
Familiarity with integration frameworks, cloud platforms, and SDLC management.
Experience managing distributed and cross-functional teams.
Advanced degree or additional certifications in program or portfolio management a plus.
Work Schedule & Details
Location: Remote (Chicago preferred, but open to top domestic candidates)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Time Zone: Must be able to work Central Time
Travel: Occasional (approx. once per month to Chicago); reimbursed
Contract-to-Hire: Not a direct path, but high-performing contractors may be considered for future full-time opportunities.
