Role Overview
We are seeking a highly specialized Technical Support Developer to oversee and evolve our mission-critical suite of Jeppesen tools. This is not a standard development role; our environment utilizes a bespoke set of tools that requires a unique problem-solving mindset and a deep understanding of complex logic.
The ideal candidate will be a “Technical Thought Leader” who can navigate the intricacies of RAVE Programming and Crew Rostering while maintaining a robust Linux-based ecosystem. You will be the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, optimizing, and scaling these mission-critical operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Optimization: Manage and maintain the Jeppesen suite, specifically focusing on Crew Rostering modules and bespoke integration points.
Custom Development: Utilize RAVE (Rule Analysis, Validation and Execution) programming to modify, update, and audit complex rule sets within the Jeppesen environment.
Technical Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 3 support for system-wide issues, navigating the Linux command line to diagnose performance bottlenecks and script automated fixes.
Workflow Integration: Leverage Python and advanced Linux scripting to bridge the gap between Jeppesen tools and our broader internal technical stack.
Strategic Problem Solving: Approach “bespoke” challenges with a non-linear mindset, identifying root causes in legacy logic and proposing modern, efficient solutions.
Technical Qualifications
Required Expertise:
Jeppesen RAVE Programming: Deep, hands-on experience writing and managing RAVE code. This is the core “language of rules” for this position.
Python Development: Proficiency in Python for tool development, data manipulation, and system integration.
Advanced Linux Administration: Mastery of the Linux command line, shell scripting, and environment configuration.
Jeppesen Crew Rostering: Direct experience with the functional and technical aspects of Jeppesen’s workforce/roster management solutions.
Core Competencies:
Bespoke Logic Mastery: Ability to learn and master non-standard, proprietary software architectures.
Analytical Rigor: A background in operations research, mathematical modeling, or complex rule-based systems is highly preferred.
Agile Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift based on operational demands.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in high-complexity logistics, scheduling, or workforce optimization.
Experience with Manpower Planning or Crew Tracking modules within the Jeppesen ecosystem.
Strong understanding of database management and API integrations within a Linux environment.
