Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DDI Engineer to join the Foundational Services organization and help define the future-state architecture for enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management services. This individual will design, automate, and enhance a hybrid DDI environment spanning on-premises infrastructure, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, and software-defined platforms.
The ideal candidate brings a recent engineering or architecture background rather than a support-focused profile. This role requires strong knowledge of enterprise networking, DDI platforms, cloud DNS, automation, and coding, along with the ability to serve as a technical SME and provide long-term architectural direction.
Key Responsibilities
Design Hybrid DDI Architecture: Develop resilient DNS, DHCP, and IPAM solutions across on-premises, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, and software-defined environments.
Automate DDI Workflows: Build automated DNS, DHCP, and IPAM processes using Python, Ansible, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and related automation tools.
Manage Enterprise DNS Services: Maintain reliable name resolution, zone delegation, zone synchronization, validation, and compliance across hybrid environments.
Resolve Complex Technical Issues: Troubleshoot advanced DDI and network problems, perform root-cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and lead Priority 1 incident investigations.
Establish Technical Standards: Define architecture and engineering standards, assess security releases and CVEs, recommend mitigations, and certify platforms and code versions.
Partner Across Technology Teams: Collaborate with Cloud, Network, Security, Active Directory, infrastructure teams, and vendors to design and implement integrated solutions.
Provide Technical Leadership: Serve as the network and DDI subject-matter expert, contribute to project scopes and budgets, and help shape long-term technology strategy.
Maintain Documentation: Create and maintain architecture documents, technical standards, runbooks, and procedures that support global operations and knowledge continuity.
Target Candidate Profile & Qualifications
DDI Engineering Expertise: 5 to 7 years of recent hands-on engineering or architecture experience with DNS, DHCP, DDI, and IPAM technologies.
Cloud DNS Experience: Strong experience with AWS Route 53 and working knowledge of Azure DNS or comparable cloud-based DNS services.
DDI Platform Knowledge: Experience with enterprise platforms such as BlueCat, Infoblox, or comparable DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies.
Automation and Coding: Hands-on experience using Python, Ansible, APIs, and CI/CD practices to automate infrastructure workflows.
Enterprise Network Architecture: Strong understanding of networking, Active Directory, hybrid infrastructure, zone delegation, and system integrations.
Large-Scale Environment Experience: Prior experience supporting or engineering technology environments serving organizations with more than 1,000 employees or users.
Incident and Problem Management: Ability to lead complex troubleshooting, outage investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning.
Strategic Technical Vision: Ability to evaluate current architecture, identify improvement opportunities, and provide a clear future-state vision for enterprise DDI services.
Nice-to-Haves
Multi-Cloud Architecture: Experience designing DDI services across both AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.
Security and Compliance: Familiarity with vulnerability management, CVE reviews, compliance enforcement, and infrastructure security standards.
Technical Strategy: Experience contributing to enterprise roadmaps, technology standards, scopes of work, and budget planning.
Contract Conversion Interest: Openness to potential extension or conversion to a full-time position based on future business needs.
