Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python/AWS Developer to support the FareWorks project, a large-scale enterprise application being implemented on the AWS platform. This individual will lead backend development efforts across design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and optimization.
The ideal candidate brings deep Python experience using pandas and boto3, along with strong AWS, Docker, Linux, Windows, Git, and DevOps capabilities. This role requires someone who can build scalable backend services, analyze complex data, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Backend Development: Design, develop, deploy, support, and optimize scalable backend services for the FareWorks platform.
Build AWS Solutions: Develop and maintain large-scale enterprise applications using AWS services and cloud-based development practices.
Manage the Development Lifecycle: Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and ongoing support.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work with architects, platform engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and build effective processing solutions.
Support Production Environments: Monitor applications, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve issues across Linux and Windows environments.
Drive DevOps and Automation: Support CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based deployments, automated processes, and production and non-production environments.
Provide Technical Leadership: Deliver technical guidance, effort estimates, impact analysis, project updates, and issue reporting to management.
Target Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Advanced Python Expertise: 8+ years of Python development experience, including strong hands-on knowledge of pandas and boto3.
AWS Development Experience: Proven experience building, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications on AWS.
Docker and Containerization: Strong experience using Docker to package and deploy applications.
Linux and Windows: Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and support applications across both operating environments.
Git Version Control: Strong experience using Git for source control and collaborative development.
Agile and DevOps: Experience working in Agile teams and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
Monitoring and Observability: Experience with tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work across technical and business teams while clearly communicating project status, risks, and issues.
Nice-to-Haves
Database Experience: Experience with MySQL, Amazon RDS, Redshift, or Apache Iceberg.
Automation Experience: Background developing automated deployment, monitoring, or operational processes.
Technical Leadership: Experience serving as a technical lead or subject-matter expert on enterprise development projects.
