Project Overview
We are seeking a Scrum Master with strong Project Delivery experience to support the Digital Services Program, driving Agile delivery, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation across multiple workstreams. This role is ideal for someone who can balance structured delivery execution with the flexibility of Scrum leadership, guiding teams through daily activities, ensuring sprint progress, and coordinating deliverables within a hybrid Agile environment.
This is not a traditional Project Manager role, the focus is on facilitating delivery, improving team performance, and ensuring transparency across stakeholders. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple priorities and personalities in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Drive delivery accountability through Agile metrics, JIRA tracking, and Smartsheet reporting.
Manage and communicate project risks, dependencies, and mitigations across Agile and Waterfall workstreams.
Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to maintain delivery velocity and ensure alignment with program goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including PMs, Release Managers, and technical leads.
Monitor sprint progress, ensuring tasks and stories are properly prioritized and executed.
Support program-level planning and reporting, providing concise updates on team progress and risks.
Facilitate issue resolution, resource coordination, and team collaboration to eliminate blockers.
Occasionally adjust work hours to accommodate evening meetings or delivery milestones (1–2 times per month).
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead, with demonstrated experience managing delivery across Agile or hybrid projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience facilitating discussions among multiple teams and business units.
Proven ability to track and mitigate risks while ensuring consistent delivery cadence.
Hands-on experience with JIRA, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Excel for metrics tracking and reporting.
Experience delivering projects through both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple teams and priorities while maintaining visibility across deliverables.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline; Scrum Master (CSM or equivalent) certification preferred.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Familiarity with Chatbot, Payment Solutions, or Contact Center applications (nice to have).
Experience supporting technology and digital transformation initiatives.
Knowledge of Agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) a plus.
Work Schedule & Details
Location: Chicago, IL – Hybrid (3 days onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (flexibility for occasional evening hours as needed)
Manager: Reports into Digital Services Leadership Team
