Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead application development initiatives in a hybrid environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with the intention of converting the selected candidate to a full-time employee after 6 months. Candidates must be eligible for full-time hire to be considered.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, proven leadership in Agile environments, and the ability to manage both onshore and offshore resources. This role is responsible for driving high-impact projects, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality standards, and managing stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development Oversight: Lead and deliver complex IT application development initiatives.
Team Management: Efficiently manage both onshore and offshore development teams to optimize resource productivity.
Agile Execution: Implement and guide Agile methodology and rituals to align development with business goals.
ADO Utilization: Use Azure DevOps (ADO) to track project progress, generate reports, and manage workflows.
Communication & Leadership: Translate technical concepts into business-friendly language for stakeholders.
Priority Management: Manage multiple tasks effectively while aligning deliverables with business priorities.
Risk & Roadblock Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve risks and blockers to maintain project momentum.
Timeline & Budget Ownership: Develop project plans, maintain schedules, and ensure delivery within budget.
Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control practices to ensure standards are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience managing enterprise-level application development projects
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and practices
Experience leading hybrid and global teams
Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project tracking tools
Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or related field
PMP certification strongly preferred
Experience managing project budgets and timelines
Familiarity with IT security best practices, disaster recovery, and system audits
Work Schedule & Location
Type: Contract-to-Hire (must be eligible for full-time hire)
Length: 6-month initial contract
Location: Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX
Travel: Up to 5% domestic travel
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
