Scrum Master / Project Delivery Lead (Contract)
Bill Rate: $90/hour
Engagement Type: Contract (6 months, strong likelihood of extension)
Work Environment: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong project delivery experience to support a long-term digital services initiative. This role is 60% Scrum Master and 40% project delivery, focused on driving day-to-day Agile execution while actively managing stakeholders, risks, and delivery tracking across complex initiatives.
This is not a traditional Project Manager role. The Scrum Master will work closely with an existing Project Manager and Release Manager, owning team-level execution, Agile ceremonies, delivery visibility, and risk mitigation across Agile and Waterfall workstreams.
The ideal candidate excels at managing multiple stakeholders, maintaining delivery momentum, and ensuring transparency across tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for Agile delivery teams, driving daily execution and team accountability.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Track delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones across Agile and Waterfall initiatives.
Actively manage and mitigate risks, escalating issues as needed to ensure predictable delivery.
Coordinate with product, business, and technology stakeholders to maintain alignment.
Maintain delivery artifacts, dashboards, and reporting using Jira, Smartsheet, and Excel.
Support digital initiatives related to customer-facing applications and services.
Ensure adherence to Agile best practices while adapting delivery approaches as needed.
Occasionally provide after-hours support (1–2 times per month) with schedule flexibility.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise technology environments.
Demonstrated project delivery experience supporting Agile and Waterfall initiatives.
Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira and delivery tracking tools such as Smartsheet.
Ability to manage risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience supporting application, web, or contact center technology initiatives.
Exposure to chatbot or digital customer interaction platforms.
Familiarity with payment solutions or transactional systems.
Agile or Scrum certifications.
Work Schedule
Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week
In-office Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional evening support (up to 9:00 PM EST, infrequent)
